“His visit would mean enormous boosting of business.”

Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

All merchants, traders and workers of Thiruvannamalai look forward to the arrival of Swami in bazaar streets. His arrival was considered the visitation of Gods! On most of the days, Swami used to make a trip to the shopping street. Even when Swami was at a distance every shop-keeper used to get down from his shop and stand with folded hands and entreat Him to come to his shop; because Swami’s visit would mean enormous boosting of business.

The one shop where Swami would drop in even without being so invited, was that of Muthiyalu Chettiar. It was no wonder then that his shop was frequently visited by Swami, who would scatter and play with rice, sugar and candy etc. He would open the cash box and throw the coins around. Chettiar would be quietly watching such pranks (Leelas) and worshipping Him. By the grace of Swamigal, he amassed Rs.7 lakhs.

“Have you ever seen the kingdom of Yama?”

Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

Swami use to ask Sundaresa Chettiar’s wife, “Have you ever seen the kingdom of Yama?”

For about two or three months Swami had been asking her this question. She started wondering why, and became worried, thinking that she might be nearing death. One day she ventured to tell Swami that she had not seen the Yamapattinam. Swami asked her whether she would like to see it and she agreed. Immediately Swami took hold of her left hand and asked her to look into His open mouth.

Oh! What a horrendous sight she saw! Most ugly looking creatures like Bhoothas, Pisaachaas, with frightening protruding teeth and eyes, demons, hunting dogs, snakes and the like were seen. She could not bear the sight and swooned. For about a couple of minutes she remained unconscious.

Then Swami put His shoulder cloth on her face and she woke up. She described that sight to all her friends, and they were all astonished.

Avathar Sri Seshadri Swamigal was just like Shri Krishna (Avathar), in that, he showed someone the whole universe in his mouth.

No obedience

A few days later Sundaresa Chettiar’s wife was to go to Madras to attend a marriage. Swami forbade her from going. Initially she agreed but later on she thought that she may incur the displeasure of her relatives and proceeded to Madras violating Swami’s Divine instructions. There, she was affected by cholera and breathed her last. It is inferred that Swami had a prognostication about her death; He wanted to remove the stain of death. If she had remained in Thiruvannamalai in His Company, death could not have over taken her or, she may have got jeevan-mukthi in Thiruvannamalai. That is why he did not want her to go to Madras as she could not be saved from the jaws of death there.

“Go! Go! Your machine will not run”

Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

Shri Meyyappa Chettiar had arranged for illumination in the entire temple of Lord Arunachaleshwara (Lord Shiva). One evening he started inspecting the electric wires for lighting. Swami said, “Go! Go! Your machine will not run.” He pretended as if he had not heard it and crept out. The machine man tried hard to run the generator but to no avail. Chettiar returned and invited Swami to see the machine. Swami swept His hand on the wheel of the machine and came out and prostrated before the machine. No sooner had He done so, the mechanic succeeded in rotating the machine to the wonder of all standing there!

“Every one has to learn by his own bitter experience”

Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

Shri K.Krishna Iyer was doing contract work and he had immense faith in Swami. Swami used to come to his house and to take His meal there. Even though Iyer had some work in Thirukoilur. He desired to take some contract in Mathuranthakam. When he expressed his desire to Swami, He told him not to go there but to stay on here itself. Because of his greed, he disobeyed Swami’s instructions and proceeded to Mathuranthakam. He was not successful there and went to Saidapet (Chennai), Vellore and other places. He did not get any work and squandered his money and returned to Thiruvannamalai. He met Swami who told him, “Every one has to learn by his own bitter experience.”

Thus Krishna Iyer continued his work in Thiruvannamalai in 1926. His supervisor Shri Ramanatha Iyer wanted to make a surprise visit to find some faults in his work. One day Swami accosted him going at a leisurely pace near Bhoothanarayanan Temple and said, “Go on, go on don’t stand, go fast, you fellow and directed him towards Eesanya Street side. Iyer rushed and reached his place of work. The Supervisor reached that place only after him and did not succeed in finding any fault in the work. If Krishna Iyer had reached five minutes later, surely some misfortunes would have befallen him.

Swami protected him. Like this, Swami cautioned his devotees about good and bad, like a father saves his son.

“Bus, bus, bus, Gup, gup, Ooh! Ooh! It went that way and came this way.”

Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

The Post Master General, Mr. F.T. Peters’s brother-in-law, an English man, was a Station Master in M.S.M. Railways. He and his sister (wife of P.M.G) were great devotees of Avathar Sri Seshadri Swamigal. There was a complaint against him. A wealthy Gujarathi had filed a lawsuit against the railways, claiming damages to an amount of nearly a lakh. It alooked like Mr. Peters’ brother-in-law, would lose his job and would have to pay a penalty of Rs.10,000.

To protect himself from such an eventuality he had submitted the relevant records of accounts to the court. Due to unforeseen circumstances, those records did not reach the court on time. This increased the suspicion against him, and threatened his career. He immediately sent a telegram to his brother-in-law to seek Swami’s blessings.

The PMG sent Postmaster Shri Govinda Swamy Iyer to meet Avathar Sri Seshadri Swamigal in Thiruvannamalai. The whole day he could not locate Swami. At 8 pm in the evening, he met the Swami. Swami looked at him saying, Bus, bus, bus, gup, gup, Ooh! Ooh! It went that way and came this way.”

Shri Govinda Swamy inferred that Swami referred to the Railway by His initial words and from the subsequent words that the records have been found and sent a message accordingly to the PMG. When the later received the telegram, there came another telegram to the effect that the records had been located. He was happy with that and the danger to his brother-in-law was averted.

About the Missing Bag

Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

Shri Perumal Swamy was a great devotee of Avathar Sri Seshadri Swamigal. Once he went to take bath in the pond, ‘Mulaippal Theertham’. He left his bag on the banks of the pond and came away forgetting the bag. It was 10 o’clock in the morning and finding Swami standing in the street, Perumal requested Swami that he would buy some sweets for Him.

Swami accompanied him for some distance, then suddenly turned to Perumal and asked him, “Where is the money to buy sweet meat, you better go to the pond.” Only then Perumal Swamy remembered about his missing bag!

Avathar Sri Seshadri Swamigal (God in human form)- incarnation of Parvathi Devi

Om Sathguru Sri Seshadri Swamigal Thiruvadikkae

Swami was Parvathi Devi Herself. If one were to extol Swami’s grace in brief, it could be stated that He was a incarnation of Sri Parvathi Devi Herself.

Brahmasri Subramania Iyer was a path-finder of Mantra Sastras. He was a famous votary of Sri Vidya. Swami was his Paramaguru. He was happy to worship Swami, who, knowing his intentions, instructed him to see HIM early morning upadesa at Shri Kambathu Ilayanar Shrine of Sri Arunachaleswar Temple -Thiruvannamalai. At 3.a.m he met Swami. At that time a miracle happened. Swami for a moment appeared to him with the grace, beauty and and the glowing golden and crimson hued complexion of none other than Shri Parvathi Devi. On seeing he was overwhelmed with devotion and forgot himself. Subsequently he was given an upadesa by Swami.
