“Is the Rakshasan dead?”

Swamigal used to visit Shri. T.S. Kuppuswamy Iyer’s house often. Swami also used to beat and abuse the womenfolk of the household in their own interest. But Kuppuswami did not like this and he used to criticize Swami. Swami considered his anger as ‘Rakshasan’ and whenever He met Iyer, Swami used to call him ‘Rakshasan!’

Later Swami came to his house and asked, if the ‘Rakshasan’ was dead! On hearing this, Iyer’s mother grew very sad and started to cry. Then, Swami said that the ‘Rakshasan’ had left and that Kuppuswami was alive.

Saying this over and over again, Swamigal was successful in wiping out the anger from Kuppuswami’s mind.
